About the Iconographer
Ptahmassu Nofra-Uaa is an internationally noted iconographer, craftsman, spiritual teacher and human rights advocate, whose works and vision have been recognized by significant members of the metaphysical and cultural arts communities.
Born in San Diego, California into a family of artists, he began at an early age to receive instruction in figure studies, watercolor technique, and Old World oil painting methods from his father, an accomplished portrait and landscape painter.
At the age of six, Ptahmassu began what has evolved into a life long obsession with the civilization, art and religious practices of the ancient Egyptians. Even at this tender age, the boy astonished (and not a little horrified) his parents when he declared that he had lived as a priest in ancient Egypt, and was called to worship its gods. By the time he entered puberty, Ptahmassu had taught himself to read and write the ancient Egyptian language, and could recite the major chapters of the Book of the Dead by heart.
Reverend Ptahmassu Nofra-Uaa is co-founder of Hwt-Ka-Ptah/ Temple of Ptah Nevada, a Kemetic Reconstructionist temple dedicated to the celebration and restoration of authentic ancient Egyptian spirituality. He is also High Priest of Per-Auset/ Temple of Auset Nevada, a non-profit educational religious organization representing the Egyptian tradition of the Goddess Auset/ Isis.
Ptahmassu was legally ordained as a Priest of the Goddess Isis in 2002 by the Rt. Rev. Lady Loreon Vigne, Arch Priestess of Temple of Isis California, a state and federally recognized church founded to honor the Divine Feminine as embodied in the Egyptian Goddess Isis. He was also ordained as a Priest of the Goddess Sekhmet in the Fellowship of Isis by Lady Olivia Robertson. In 2004 Ptahmassu Nofra-Uaa was ordained by Lady Olivia Robertson as a Priest-Hierophant within the international Fellowship of Isis.
The iconographer has also been a writer of poetry and prose from his youngest years (visit his poetry blog), regarding these not as a hobby or intellectual past time, but rather as a means of emotional release and survival. An adult survivor of childhood incest, his poetry expresses a journey through broken home and personal violation. It carries the reader on a journey from the darkness of entrapment to spiritual illumination.
